For our more complex cases, it’s a must. The high resolution 3-D images show extensive detailed information of the bone volume and shape of the patient’s jaw. We can then instantly assess whether they are a suitable candidate for dental implants, saving everybody both time and costs. The images can then be further used to create a surgical guide to accurately place the implant. Most people are familiar with the hospital tunnel scanner and although it produces similar results, the cone beam scanner has much lower radiation levels. Most people are also probably familiar with hospital queues, waiting times and car parks. Scanning time takes around 9 seconds to complete so patients are in and out within a few minutes. The results can then be instantly emailed or put onto a CD and posted out the same day.
